people with injuries died from exposure and altitude, not falling off a cliff. the area is a high valley.
and China had 43 casualties, not deaths. casualties includes both dead and wounded. and the wound could be a stubbed toe.

Moral high ground isn’t what it used to be anyway.
Geography is much more substantial. That’s why we have most wars.
Kashmir is Gandhi’s fault. Actually, Britain’s, for giving in to Gandhi. I hope to live to see the day when we no longer declare someone a saint for his good intentions.
Basically true for Kashmir, which was (and is) Muslim, and should have gone to Pakistan. Ladakh, where the clash took place, is primarily Buddhist, though at Partition it was part of Jammu and Kashmir- meaning you had a situation where the province as a whole would have opted for Pakistan, but Ladakh itself would have chosen India- at the time, a ‘secular’ country.

Lots of background, but no real answer to the question posed:
The forest and the trees.
India’s best offensive would be stepping up infrastructure building and take over all the manufacturing jobs from China.
Anything else is going to be short-spanned and moot.
