In the Age of AI, you’ll be seeing quite a lot more of them.

Yup just a completely normal shipping route, exactly how goods get delivered to their destination(s). :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

It seems like the old order is breaking down.

It was a good run while it lasted

Time to get that Elon Musk internet thing Rogan was lauding.

You have to have Internet

Hooked to starlink, i think.

Until a nuke in space takes out the satellites…

All of them?

Interesting. So how about the Canadians hosting and training Chinese military pilots? Surely it must be a lower hanging fruit than a dual-citizen on the other side of the world.:roll_eyes:

It’s also reminiscent of the KimDotCom dog and pony show over laws that did not even apply in New Zealand.

Weren’t ex RAF pilots training Chinese pilots as well?

One nuke (or just EMP), wouldn’t take out all of them, but do you understand how the satellite internet works? Probably not. In a nutshell, Starlink can only have reliable connectivity with a constellation. A single EMP would make a blind spot, and also a lot of dead satellites. Those satellites that can’t be maneuvered can hit other satellites, and then there is shrapnel. Eventally that orbit is just full of bullets flying around. And that’s the effect of one EMP over time. Multiple EMPs would speed up the process.

I vaguely recall something like that, but I don’t have time to search for it tonight. Will look for it tomorrow.

A fine report from Helen Davidson at the Guardian on you-know-who’s recent cable cutting move.

A comment on Starlink and other LEO, MEO and GEO… Awesome technology for critical communication emergency system, providing emergency coverage where no coverage exists (mountains, ocean’s, deserts …) but don’t count on it as an internet connectivity for all people… Just look at the capacity per LEO, number of beams limits and coverage per satellite… and compare that with an private operators fixed, cable or mobile capacity per square km

I try to finish my satellite internet with the appetizer’s
