China tourist Visa @ HK airport

Hi,

first time poster here.
I read a few of the past threads on getting a visa @ hk airport.
However, i do have other questions that i would like to ask or confirm.

1. What documents will I need to provide/have on hand when i apply for the visa? I am an american passport holder.

2. All i have on hand so far is a one way ticket into China (I can’t pick my my Shanghai to LA ticket until I get there). Will that be of any problems?

3. How much is the processing fee for same day Visa at HK Aiport?
   I read its about $1000 HKD, is that correct?

4. In order to get to the CTS counter at the HK airport, I must go through the customs?

Your passport and a passport photo. They can take your picture on the spot for HKD 40

Yes, HKD 1,000 for the express version

In order to get to the CTS counter at the HK airport, I must go through the customs?

Yes, once you clear customs, you might want to buy HKD right there. Then as you walk about, look for the CTS counters on either side of the arrival hall - not on the left and right sides per se, but towards the right (near the yogurt stand) and towards the left (before the exit hallway to the airport hotel)
