It’s part two of the Air Identification Zone expansion. China realized people were disregarding their zones because it was ridiculous, so now they are going to violate Taiwan’s zone.
Yes I’m afraid this is part 2 of ADIZ. The difference is that Part 1 was directed at Japan, Vietnam and the whole “pivot to asia” thing. (Not to discredit the whole effort of Senkaku was aimed to claim Taiwan through a small rock).
My analysis is that China wants to recreate pre2008, when the entire EA and US blamed Taiwan for being the troublemaker.
Considering that Taiwan has been wanting observer status in the ICAO, this is a real slap in the face.
