They are making absolutely drastic changes right now and we will just have to say if they work. Again I think they are suffering from similar levels of hubris as the US in the late 90s. From Beijing’s perspective, they have basically been hitting nothing but net for two decades and are high on their own supply.

I don’t care what kinds of adjustments they WILL make. Nothing but bodies will fill the jobs and create the demand for stuff now. Either you import millions more workers and pay them slave wages or continue to enslave your own population. Telling CCP members to shoot out babies will do nada in the short term. Na…da. All of Asia is going going to hit this wall of birthrate because they are so monocultural and not accepting of immigration and they are so xenophobic. So it is fitting and I don’t feel sorry for them. They will let their economies go into the abyss before letting foreigners becoming citizens. That’s why USA and Canada are doing so well since they import foreign talent so well

Once you have citizenship you have political power, they don’t want foreigners who are not born in these countries to have any say in their politics. Unfortunately true, but its a big dilemma.
