Recently surfing with my chinese buddies they introduced me the world of number used homonym slangs for internet posting.

Do you think this should be taught in a formal chinese class.

God knows I had no clue about this stuff.

520 - I love you
57520 - My wife, I love you
809 - bowling

A friend of mine online has been teaching me a few other slang terms used in daily speech, such as:

  1. The slang term for telling dirty jokes or sexual innuendos is “Kai huang Chiang” (’‘Open Yellow Gun’’ or ‘‘Firing the Yellow Gun’’)

  2. “Ca di ban” (Wipe the floor means ‘‘let’s dance’’)

  3. “Bei mao yen” (’'Don’t give off smoke ‘’ means ‘‘don’t get mad’’)

  4. if someone says “Chi ne de Do fu” (’‘Eating your tofu’’…’‘flirting with you’’) … You could respond back “bei gen wo kai huang chiang” (’‘Don’t tell me sexual jokes’’)

My one student actually said…in “English”…“There is one very thirty-eight girl in my class…”
She meant 38!

I always used 143 for I love you ex(1=I, 4=L-o-v-e, 3=Y-o-u)
