Chinese podcasts with transcripts

Hi,

I am looking for authentic podcasts that are targeted towards native Mandarin speakers. I have found that Radio Taiwan International is a good source for these podcasts/ radio shows however I can’t find any transcripts to go with the podcasts. Therefore if I don’t understand a word I am stuck and have to ask my wife.

I don’t like Chinese pod because there are too many jingles and too much English.

Does such a thing exist?

If anyone has any resources to share it would be greatly appreciated.

That’s what textbooks are for, right – some audio with a transcript+notes. There are a variety of high-level textbooks that you could use to get to the point where you won’t feel the need for a transcript. By the way, media lessons for CP don’t have English, but you have to pay for them and I think they’re a bit expensive. Another good site for radio is ‘‘tunein’’.

But sounds like your level might be to high for this kind of things.

slow-chinese.com is pretty good (and free!) though might be a little easy for you. Also I believe Chinesepod goes all chinese at the intermediate / advanced level, so maybe don’t dismiss it already.

Realistically though, why would native Mandarin speakers need transcripts with their podcasts? Outside of language learners podcasts it’s going to be pretty rare. You’re better off ripping the audio from Taiwanese or Chinese TV shows on youtube, then you can always check the subtitles for unknown words at a later date.

There’s the Mandarin (and traditional character version) of the Voice of America.

Try the free samples from the top level of chineselearnonline.com (level 7). Then you’ll see if it fits your level or not.
