Chinese vocab books: a suggestion

This is a book tip for a bit advanced students.
Say you know 500+ characters but still lacking some very practical and essential vocab but certainly not basic stuff.

I found two great little vocab books. They are for Chinese people to learn English. But I found they are awesome for the other way around, as well (as this is with many of those books). There is no bopomofo or pinyin, so you need to look up characters you don’t know yet (I see this as an advantage to quickly learn more characters).

Anyway you can find them at the bookstore at Nanyang Street. Walking south from behind the tall Xinguang Sanyue building. The store is at the left side. At 1F, against the left wall when walking in.

These 2 books I bought are titled “Wanyong”, 萬用. They’re discounted. Get them before sold out. Just a bit over 200NT$ per piece.

No offense but it seems to me that you are perhaps, maybe, er, Taiwanese pretending to be learning Chinese, in which case you might want to come out and say that so people can consider your advice in that light.

Apologies in advance if English is your second language and your first isn’t Chinese.

Why would a Chinese want to do that??? What a weird thought of you. I am European. English is my second language.

Many good books for foreigners to learn Chinese are using simplified characters which always annoys me. I have found these kind of books (above, for Chinese) to be a great resource. Even if those above books would be sold out, it’s very easy to find others.

It’s nothing to be ashamed of. Many people complain of having weird thoughts of me.
