I hear from friends and from reading comments on iTunes and other sites that Chinesepod has taken a turn for the worst. I keep considering to join and pay the subscription, but I hear and read bad things. My friend is a member and he says everything went bad after they changed to an app. I just want to listen and read the dialogue on both iPhone and iPad which keep in synch and easy to find the information.
So, question, are there any sites available for mp3 and dialogues until Chinesepod can get their act together?
I dont think Chinesepod is awful - but honestly, its only useful if you already kind of know Chinese and youre in need of learning new stuff on the fly (it good if youre at a place where you can listen to a dialogue and kind of know whats going on but need to learn new vocab and maybe some grammar here and thereâŚif that makes any sense. I dunnoâŚits just another way to listen and have people stop and break it down for you. Certainly isnt âthe answerâ to being a zhongwen expert but I like it - its interesting and pretty fun. I wonder what other people have to say now - this thread is really really old.
I personally found the easier lessons too easy and the harder lessons too hard. Either way, the english does make it fun to start with, but after a while its a just boring and time wasting. Just get on to the comprehensible input already!
A podcast that is entirely chinese for people to learn chinese, that would be something I would be really interested in.
My Chinese Learn Online podcast is still out there for those wanting to learn Chinese. Unlike other ones, itâs progressive so each lesson continues where the previous one left off, making the course progressively harder. The early levels are all in English, while later levels replace the English with Chinese that has been taught, so youâre constantly getting review. There is also an iPhone app version of the first level available. Enjoy!
I checked out that site, its just confusing. I couldnât work out a way to find any sample mp3âs that might be at my level.
Ah, good feedback. Try out this feed which has the first four lessons from each level. The lessons in between can be downloaded individually from the site for free, or you can purchase access to the premium feed for select levels.
You might also be interested in checking out Popup Chinese. The podcasts are free at all levels and there are over 1000 of them by now.
Thanks for the link!! will visit it later))
I really like ChinesePod. It offers the structure, guidance, and humor just what is needed learn, and I have already learned more in a month than I did in a year using just books and audio CDs! Thanks
has anyone got those traditional pdf files? a share would be so nice!
I just checked this out for the first time in a few years. Wow the prices have jumped! 200 USD/month for some of their services!
If you want to learn the native speaking Chinese, youâd better to follow a native Chinese teacher. I donât have the experience learing Mandarin with Rosetta Stone but I study with Hanbridge Mandarin
I feels good although I just started learning with Hanbridge Mandarin for two weeks, they are the live teacher to teach me Chinese by using Virtual classroom, just like learning in campus.
You write English just like a native Mandarin speaker. If you werenât such a regular poster here - say, if that was your first post!
- Iâd strongly suspect you came here just to promote your own website!
I had a paid subscription, and there is a setting to have Traditional characters on the site and the downloadable transcripts.
