Chungwha Telecom SUCKS!

I have been in Taiwan for many years and often have to deal with the realities of Taiwan (which are often extremely difficult). I had to deal with Chunghwa today for a promotion they offered me. After over an hour of filling out forms etc they told me I needed a Taiwan guarantor. Ok I know this to be a Chunghwa policy, but I have had various services for 6 continuous years, in my name and THEY offered me the promotion (a free cel phone and number). After speaking to two managers (both of which know nothing about customer service, well actually Chunghwa could very easily win an award for the worst customer service) I ended up leaving without my NEW PROMOTION CEL PHONE!! One of the managers actually whined to a woman who was talking to me. He would not speak to me directly and quickly ran away so I could not respond to what he said.

I have had endless problems with Chunghwa over the years and this time I have had it with them. What I want to know is, does anyone know of a high level Chunghwa manager I could called to complain about this.

Go straight to the top: write to the Chairman of Chunghwa (I think it’s still Tochen Tan, though you’ll need to check), and copy it to the Director-General of the Directorate General of Telecommunications (DGT) under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.

hEXin 和信 (I think it’s KGT in English?) was actually doing business with foreigners as though we were real people the last time I checked (about 3 months ago). No guarantors. I put my Chunghwa contract down to NT$99 per month as soon as possible and then switched over. Would have cancelled it but there’s no way I’m giving them NT$4000 for the privilege.
