What happens if an Australian Citizen (Me) marries a Taiwanese Citizen?
If I do not want our future kids to be Taiwanese Citizens because I do not want them to be conscripted, yet I want them to be able to stay in Taiwan Long-Term, what can I do to help them?
I guess you could go home and have them in Oz, and bring them back on a JFRV and ARC.
If they are born here, I belive citizinship is automatic. At least since 2000.
I wouldn’t worry too much about conscription though, it is due to end in a few years.
I don’t think my son (7) will have to worry about it.

Or have them in Hong Kong, they can get a full HK Citizenship as they have Chinese ancestry and of course visa free entry to China.
