Hi, anybody know one of these traditional chinese places that clean out your ears in Tianmu or Shihlin? Don’t know what they’re called, but they use some kind of candle to get the wax out, no idea how this works but it’s supposed to be very efficient & good for your hearing … thanks, Xpet.
Try some night market or Chinese pharmacy perhaps.
It functions by means of a vacuum effect, i.e. the air and dirt is sucked out since the heat at the top of the candle creates a draft.
Signs at the night market I saw claim to cure more than 25 different types of illnesses but I woulnd’t take their word for it …

Rascal, BFM, thanks! I looked at the linked threads and am now much enlightened. Hopefully I will also hear more soon. I shall try it and give a brief report in case the experience was anything worth threading about. I’ll try the Shihlin night-market first as it’s close to home. Xpet.
