Interesting thread with lots of info. My wife and me recently decided to give reusable cloth diapers a try with our 13 month old daughter. After having used disposables for a year, and having seen that disposables create literally tons of extra garbage that will probably take forever to decompose on the landfills, the idea of reusable diapers sounds good from an environmental standpoint although we are aware it may mean a lot of extra work and some unpleasantness. However, the experiences by some people here, esp MotorcycleRider, sound very encouraging. So my question to MR (and others) is: what exact brand/type of cloth diapers are you using, where do you get them & how much do they cost? Thanks and sorry if these questions have been answered here before in some form or another. I am just a newbie in this area.
I use Bum Genius 3.0 diapers, and a few Mother’s Touch. The BGs I got in Canada and the MTs in Taiwan. Send Asiababy a PM, she sell’s MTs in Taiwan. Most of the brand name pocket diapers such as BGs and MTs costa round $700nt per diaper. A big initial investment (you’ll need a dozen of them if you do laundry every other day and use disposable diapers at night), but after 7 months I calculated that they have already paid for themselves.
Thanks, MR. I’ll give that a try.
