Do dogs count as passengers to fill up a car when using the freeways? If not it will lengthen my trip to Taidong by three hours … to 8-9 hours travel … need to use the 9 to Yilan instead the 5 freeway …
:roflmao:
blowup dolls dont either k ?
I would take the coastal highways down to Kaohsiung and then the 9 across to Taitung. Don’t forget there is construction now on the Suhua and it will be very slow.
We once drove down to Ktwown visa the coastal highways (which are like expressways in many areas) and it only took an hour more than going the freeway.
I made it to Dulan fast and with only the driver and two dogs, over the #5 Freeway … Thursday morning … arriving in Dulan in about 6 hours, with 4 short 10 minutes stops to ‘air’ the dogs … coming back tho was another story.
Thinking that the 5 would be really overcrowded busy I planned on driving through Taroko, over Hehuan Shan … Puli, Taichung and then the #3 to Sanxia … for some mysterious reason they closed Taroko from the entrance, making me go to Suao, Yilan and Jaoshi … over the #9 to Xindian and than home … total travel time 12 hours … Dulan --> Suao was pretty fast, Suao --> Sansia incredible slow … :bluemad:
Did you enjoy Dulan? Where did you stay?
Don’t cry too much over the return time? It once took me 11 hours to return to Taipei just from Jiaoxi.
I stayed at a private place, meeting some local, influential people … also met most foreigners that live there … pretty OK place … land and property prices are rocketing …
Business trip?
Scouting the East coast down from Hualian …
Could the good folk soon be learning to spread mayo on their fries?
You probably met some of the same ones as I met last month down there. May have even stayed in the same place.
