Just stop in and chat with the Bodum worker. They’ll let you know what they can do.

I don’t think there’s any difference in terms of brewing, but I’ve found the Bodum ones tend to last the longest.
I have a French press from Nitori. Cheap and works very well. I use it exclusively for loose leaf tea actually.
One thing that concerns me is the plastic (silicon ) ring they use at the edges (even though it’s perfect for coffee ).
I think I will buy a pure metal press or a glass/ceramic exterior with a metal press part.
Ikea French press is super cheap actually and it looks good for tea. Just metal filter.
Works fine for tea, I use it for both.
As mentioned, Starbucks carries Bodum. However, you most definitely won’t find them cheaper in a department store. I suspect Starbucks is their own importer, so they set their price based on the US selling price. Department stores set their price on the idea that you’re shopping in a department store, so you’re expecting to pay a premium price.
The advantage of buying a Bodum is that parts are interchangeable. If you ever need replacement parts, just wait until Starbucks has one of their inventory sales, then buy the cheapest, most plasticky one you can, recycle the plastic bits, then you have a spare beaker and filter, along with a few other parts.
It’s possible all those small French presses are the same size. Maybe the beaker from an Ikea one or a Tiamo one can fit the holder from the Bodum, and vice versa.
Another option for a beaker may be a laboratory-supply store.
I busted yet another French press, but this little Tiamo thing I mostly got for the filter is filling in amply under these trying epidemic conditions.
Sounds like an abusive relationship. I’ve been using the same French press for like ten years. 
Have you been buying an off-market press?
The glass portion of the Bodum I use is really tough (though I have, in about 15 years, broken one when I was tired).
