In traffic accident and Tauwanese gets badly hurt.
It would depend on how fault is decided. Is this hypothetical, or did it happen?
How much compensation beyond medical costs (for pain and suffering?) would generally be negotiated by foreigner hit by car while riding bicycle?
Soft tissue injuries. Nothing broken but major body injuries, cuts, etc. Lower back, shoulder muscles, joint, ligaments, knees, sciatic nerve, etc.
Captured on traffic cam showing full fault of car driver.
Maybe NT$100,000. 50k might be realistic for an arrangement where you get paid at the same time you get the settlement. Which is a lot safer.
200k is probably an outer limit in reality. Sometimes you see judgments with 1 million in really horrific accidents. A lot depends on ability of other party to pay. Let the mediators help you. They have way more experience about what βmarketβ is. In my fairly wide experience they are usually fair to foreigners. I have seen exceptions. Whatβs more common is a foreigner who thinks the mediator is biased although I canβt see any evidence of that.
