I have spent a lot of time cramped up in my room completing work on my computer and want to find a better place to be productive.
Are there any lounges with free/cheap WiFi that anyone recommends? I’m looking for a place where it’s fine to spend several hours with a nice view. Comfy chairs and space for me to bring in a laptop would be nice.
I found two in Ximen, the more expensive one (I would presume) is near MRT exit 6 for NT$100 / hour. It’s full of kids playing League of Legends, a game I used to play myself. Huehuekaiser anyone?
I am meaning to build a new computer at some point so that I can start trying to beat XCom on impossible ironman again.
Do you have ADSL at home? You can get a years worth of Hinet Hot Spot Wifi at a really low price. I think it’s less than two hundred dollars now. Any 7-11, most Family Marts public building, McDonald’s. Even the couches in the Telephone office are real comfy. Many Public Libraries also have wifi and they are very comfy. I use these places to save on air conditioning…
There is a free service called i-Taiwan. I’ve used that in some places like hospital and government buildings and rest stops. People have complained about it being slow, but for my needs it works ok
I’ve never heard of computer lounges before. Do you mean Internet cafes, or coffee shops/cafes with Internet access?
Dougster, yes, I suppose I mean all of those things. Basically just looking for recommendations on comfy places to sit my tush and use my laptop for work.
Depending on where you live of course, GongGuan has some decent coffee shops around Lane 86, Section 3, XinSheng South Rd, across from Tai Da, near the Church.
