Talk to Nam. He’ll set you up properly. :sunglasses:

I think they had a rule about no retail sales. I went yesterday, but only to Hall number 3. Mostly software. The neatest thing I saw was active noise reduction headphones.

The first four days are supposed to be ‘trade only’ so it was supposed to be buyers, press and exhibitors only, so the people there are supposed to be talking business deals only. Yeah, I know, it is easy to lie. They just ask for a couple of business cards to get in. Tomorrow (Saturday, June 5) is the ‘open to the public day’. I don’t think there will be much in the way of sales going on. Most places only had display models, and even for getting commercial samples most places wanted to talk about it after the show. I went Tuesday and Thursday and it was a madhouse both days, wall to wall people milling about.

My big impression was that Shuttle is going to be in trouble as just about everyone had knockoffs of the XPC form, while Shuttle itself had a pathetic booth with NO PRODUCTS displayed, just some murals on the wall explaining the concept. And the time I went by they had two mini-skirted booth babes but no actual salespeople. If I were a buyer in the SFF space, I’d be wondering what is Shuttle thinking?

That and VOIP products seemed to be everywhere, including some nifty looking wifi VOIP phones.

That’s strange, cuz my friend posted pics of new 2 models the 95 series that were on display at the booth.

odd, but hey i’ll be going to check out bf’s ex-wife. i’m guessing Antec.

I’ll admit I was just strolling by the booth, so they might have had something tucked away in back, but from walking by I just saw a bunch of murals and a couple of booth babes and nothing else. It was certainly unlike the other dozen SFF booths in Hall 2 which typically had at least a dozen XPC clones clearly visible at the front of the booths. It certainly gave the impression that the others were more up on things.

I loved the BenQ show with the dancing soccer ball men. I wish I had brought a video camera. It reminded me of that group from the States or somewhere with eyeballs instead of heads. It was a refreshing break from floozies with pink hair doing aerobics to Britney music. That alone was worth having to trek through a hot, crowded showroom.

Nice to see that the show is doing better than last year’s–Taipei’s prostitutes must be jumping for joy.

Right now!

I went yesterday, Hall 1 and 2 weren’t that interesting to me but Hall 3 with all the big screens (including 46" LCDs) was more like it. It’s mostly trade though and it was pretty crowded.

Shuttle’s booth was just for brand

oops. the booth itself was empty, my friend forgot to mention that the computers he saw were on display with Shuttle at their NY NY place.

hey ROC, were you at Shuttle Night? which guy were you?

That’s the kind. They were battery powered. When you turn them on you can notice quite a difference. Not complete silence, but pretty nice. The company was promoting an online teaching software thing and I think this was on the side. They wanted 1000NT each. Their website was www.aclass.com.tw if I remember correctly. I’d like to have a pair, but I don’t have any practicle use for them.
