Confession of a Crypto-conservative Woman

Linked story from an article on REAL CLEAR POLITICS.com.
Quite a good story that I have heard repeated by quite a few folks.

This is my town: It

Hell it sounds like “desperate housewives” with husbands :unamused:

You could easily just reverse all the “liberal” adjectives in that article to “conservative” and you’d have a similar snapshot of life in right-wing red state territory. American politics seems really polarized these days.

Yep. The next President can be a winner if he/she just isn’t an asshole.

He he. Good luck.

Exactly. In the late 90’s, I was at a birthday party of a family relative who is very conservative. Most of the party attendees were my relative’s friends from church. When politics came up as a discussion, all I heard were “Clinton is evil” and “Clinton is Satan” comments. Same-same but different.

While this is true smerf, I would like to add, that it wasn’t so widespread as to have children parrot the party line. The worst I heard about Clinton was at a Gun show in the midwest and if you consider the fact that clinton committed a perjury for lying about adultery and was not actually in trouble for committing adultery like most people believe. So while I say yes you can switch names the worst is that we are brainwashing children to think a certain way then to rather let them come up and try their own answers.

Cheers,
Okami

To be more precise, he was accused of committing perjury.

And please, parents. Keep your young kids out of politics and religion.
They are too young to form their own opinions.

Interesting article, TC.

While some core beliefs are different, the similarities in behavior are striking. Mirror images with all of the same components at any point along the profile. Just proves that people are people no matter what jersey they’re wearing. Human nature is stronger than ideology.

Clinton wasn’t evil. He was just horny… :smiling_imp:

Clinton was horny.
Goats are horny.
Devils are often portrayed as goats.
Therefore, Clinton is a devil.

It’s really quite simple you see.
