Well Jimmy, he got into the discussion because he is an Israeli citizen who is currently being denied a passport and the right to leave Israel - something, you by the way said couldn’t or didn’t happen…do a quick check on Google News and you will see that his government is denying him the right to leave the country…amazing isn’t it? Contrary to you (and quite a few other people) governments do seem to limit the ability of their citizens to leave the country…wow…what’s next? Soldiers beating prisoners or forcing them to perform sex acts? No civilized country would do this right??? LOL Have a great fantasy life…
I would suggest that you do not go back. The fact that you left when you were 16 and that you signed the “letter” means that they have your record for conscription as soon as you enter.
Check to see if your ROC passport has a stamp on the last page indicating that you haven’t fulfilled your military service.
Yes, you may be able to get away with it, but i wouldn’t take that chance.
