Is this really a “phenomenon” or just an excuse to cover for cops’ callous attitudes and unwillingness to use restraint? I really wonder if white guys are ever victims of contagious shooting events. It always seems to be a black guys, doesn’t it?
Do these things happen in America only? It wouldn’t surprise me if this were true.
Contagious shooting? What a load of crap, that was a case of ill disciplined shitheads pretending to be real cops. Sounds awfully like that horror vid that was doing the rounds recently where some chap was shot at 80 something times with 20 or more hitting him AND killing a police dog.
What the public needs to do in all officer involved shootings is demand independent, transparent, third party review of the cases.
What the public needs to not do is jump to conclusions. Most members of the public have little understanding of practical pistolcraft, nor the psychology of lethal force encounters.
Nobody on this forum, me included, can say anything intelligent about any officer involved shooting without going through the case file in some detail.

I’m just surprised that this thread attracted less than 5 posts, however the shooting of the Brazillian guy by British police drummed up more than 5 pages, largely by Americans insinuating that UK bobbies shouldn’t be armed. MaPoSquid/TC et al - bit different when the shoe is on the other foot, eh?
However, I guess this is just a run of the mill encounter in the States so not really worthy of comment.
When playing paintball, I found myself cursing that I couldn’t fire fast enough or have enough bullets (I wanted 2 guns) when the opposing team starting storming our team’s position and their paintballs were pelting really close to me.
