Converting mp4 to mp3

hey all,

i’ve seen a stack of conversion tools out there for this job. any suggestions on a nice, preferable open source one?

i basically want to stream them through my network but my set top box doesnt like mp4.

Do you own the distribution rights for the files you deem to convert?

I have used MediaCoder before. It is free, open source, supports MP4, and does batch encoding. Here it is: mediacoder.sourceforge.net/
