People are still getting covid shots?
People are getting them once a month?!?!
People are still getting covid shots?
People are getting them once a month?!?!
I think/hope it’s a joke.
My throat hurts today, afraid I’ve caught a dose of the rona
I’d use the hug emoji, but I’d rather not
I’ve had an awful headache and a funky stomach since Friday. Desperately watching my throat as there is also a bit of a cough. And pressure on my chest. All I can think is oh no lordy, please no.
In terms of symptoms, Huang Li-min (黃立民), an attending physician in pediatric infectious diseases at National Taiwan University Hospital, said the most common symptoms remain a cough, runny nose, fever, and body aches, with some patients also experiencing abdominal pain and nausea.
One notable difference, Huang said, is that the new variants are more likely to cause severe throat inflammation, with symptoms like sore or dry throat more frequently reported.
This sounds like exactly what I had in Jan and took two months to get over.
Two months? That sounds awful. But I don’t want to get vaccinated. Maybe when I’m 70 and there’s some risk involved.
At the moment, orders for covid home test kits will not be filled until after June 26.

COVID home test kits in short supply across Taiwan
An uptick in COVID cases has led to increased demand for rapid, at-home COVID tests, with many pharmacies running out of stock.

I will take a test that supposedly shows I have ‘covid’ and regardless of the result will do what I was going to do anyway - wear a mask and think it will spread everywhere.
If only the mindset towards the flu and common cold was back in vogue.
Move on or be a slave for life.
Infections still going up.

Taiwan treated 41,000 COVID cases last week
The Centers for Disease Control reported on Tuesday that from May 18 to 24, there were 41,402 outpatient and emergency visits for COVID, a 113% increase from the previous week.

Note how the peaks on that chart don’t follow typical seasonal patterns (i.e. it’s quite a different animal from the flu which typically peaks in winter season). This virus remains wily and strange . . .

Yes indeed those are the two, and the only two, choices available for us.
If you keep this up, you might need to adjust your user name to “0/1”.

Lai says no need to stockpile supplies as COVID infections increase
Outbreak is expected to peak in late June or early July.
The thing I caught in January—what was different from any pneumonia or flu I’ve had before is the sore throat. Literally felt like someone was sticking a knife in my throat. The pain.
A post was merged into an existing topic: COVID Humbug!
Yet. No need to stockpile yet.
Just as we do not need mask mandates again. Yet.
Otherwise, these comments will not age well. Especially in the corridors of power where coughs echo menacingly.
Anyways I got enough masks for two years. Latest prophecies about the third instalment of SARS, the Return of the Virus, estimate between 2028 and 2030…if WWIII does not get us first.
Covid wave to last until beginning of August.
Holy moly, if the number of deaths double they’ll be around the same as the number of people killed in traffic accidents! Until August anyway.
Jan 1 – Mar 31 2025 averaged about 55 traffic deaths per week
38 deaths per week is 69% of that number. More news at 4:20
