The only reason why we need these vaccines at this point in the pandemic is because the rest of the world, especially countries like the US and Canada and the UK basically decided they were going to vaccine themselves out of the pandemic and had given up on their first opportunity to contain and eradicate.

Now we praise those countries… despite being responsible for prolonging the pandemic and forcing us to continue holding the fort. Maybe the US and Canada should have put in the effort. Oh wait. They DIDN’T, while pinning all their hopes on what was then, a hypothetical vaccine.
We don’t have reliable partners as you can see with how Biontech has been co-opted by the CCP. Domestic is the only way to reliably procure vaccines. It’s not as simple as pulling up your pants.
