Coronavirus Taiwan - Specific Developments July-October 2022

It’s a Tuesday announcement; the numbers are always higher than Monday which is the low day due to the weekend testing factor.

Deaths are way down, though there was another tragic case of an child under five dying following infection . . .

From cookiebandit’s twitter:

Philip Lo says like everyone prepares for a typhoon, everyone needs to prepare for the next surge:

  1. Get vax
  2. NPI - masks, wash hands, quarantine if ordered to do so
  3. Family/friends of vulnerable populations (seniors, young kids, immunocomp’d) should check in on them often.

My question:
Has anyone explained why young kids in Taiwan are vulnerable when that hasn’t been the case in many(any?) other countries?

Perhaps this is because the authorities in Taiwan still try to track cases and announce results, however imperfectly.

By contrast, we hear little to nothing from the authorities in Canada, as many of the provincial health authorities have stopped counting cases and stopped communicating with the public—a situation compounded by “right to privacy” laws in which individual medical conditions and outcomes (example: an infant dying) cannot be made public without consent.

I don’t see how that might have any bearing on the CECC’s knowledge (if they have any) regarding the aetiology of COVID deaths in children.

Governments have been tracking all age ranges, and they’ve been using exactly the same flawed methodology (i.e., counting PCR test results instead of recording an identifiable constellation of signs and symptoms leading via an identifiable process to death). Because this process leaves every death open to wide interpretation, it’s almost impossible to know if Taiwan is experiencing something that wasn’t experienced elsewhere; but if that is the case, the public deserves an explanation rather than a blasé “vaccines will fix it” from the authorities. Since they have no basis for declaring any particular childhood death as directly caused by COVID (unless they’re performing analyses that, for reasons known only to themselves, they’re not writing up for publication), they have no basis for believing that vaccines will make things better rather than worse.

And no, the explanation isn’t “privacy” - particularly not in Canada, where the Trudeau administration has made it quite clear they have no use for rule of Law. The UK, for example, makes detailed medical records available to legitimate researchers (= those who won’t make the government look bad) after they’ve been through an anonymizing process operated by the MoD.

In any case, researchers disconnected from these cases are unlikely to figure out what’s going on. If we weren’t living in clownworld, the doctors who were directly involved would get their heads together and compare case notes. They’d then be able to figure out in general terms what sort of events lead to death, and what sort of treatments avert that outcome. In 2019 that would have happened without any need for prompting. But for whatever reason (what could it possibly be?) it isn’t happening in current year.

Does that last table show that many of the people were already under DNR notices? Surely not?
