Coronavirus Vaccine Discussion

Have any of your friends or family died of Covid vaccinations? Or even gotten sick from them?

Nice chop job.

Just the facts, dude. Get over it. Get vaxxed or don’t. There’s no need for anyone to guilt-trip or make people unnecessarily fearful, to get the vax. That people feel they need to do that just shows how weak the entire vaccine program really is. The foundation is entirely suspect.

So what percentage of the world has been harmed by vaccinations?

That’s a separate point altogether. My point here is that scare-mongering and guilt-tripping people into getting vaxxed is reprehensible. It’s a sign of desperation. Especially considering the low chances of getting ill and dying ‘of Covid’ if you don’t have the primary comorbidities associated with these ‘Covid deaths.’ Covid deaths, at least in the UK, that don’t even require a positive Covid test to be classed as such.

Nobody knows, because nobody even cares. The pharma companies have been allowed to roll out 6 billion doses without even a pretence at a Phase 4 trial, which under any other circumstances would have seen them shut down by regulators.

The best information that exists is contained in (for example) the US VAERS system, which has serious flaws. As of a few weeks ago, 12,000 post-vaccine deaths have been reported and 16,000 life-altering side effects. And before you dismiss those deaths as “oh, they would have happened anyway”, the VAERS reports are filtered through the jaundiced eye of a doctor. That number could well be an underestimate.

So if we make a finger-in-the-air guesstimate based on the number of doses given in the US (380m) and worldwide (5.8b), there might potentially be 180,000 deaths and 240,000 serious harms. We’re ignoring all the minor harms that occur here - which are in the hundreds of millions - and we’re also ignoring potential harms that (it’s still possible) may emerge later.

Now you’ll probably say, oooh, but look how many people were killed by COVID! Well, yes. But these two things are qualitiatively different. COVID isn’t being mandated. Nobody is saying you have to catch COVID otherwise you’re a bad person. And as has been pointed out ad infinitum, the vast majority of those deaths were the old and the sick. Young, healthy people dying of COVID happens about as often as people apparently killed by vaccines (the figure reported by most authorities is about 5% of COVID deaths). Average age-at-death in the UK for COVID cases is 82, ie., the same as the median life expectancy.

The bottom line is that getting vaccinated is not a no-brainer; the risk tradeoff for each individual is unique. Pressure of any kind - and particularly the kind based on false assertions such as “you’re preventing herd immunity” - is absolutely unconscionable.

That’s irrelevant. The point is you make it only sound like a statistic. But for some people out there, it’s not just a statistic.

I’d feel a lot more confident about the vaccines if each vaccine developer was required to provide weekly progress update about the improvements they are implementing to make the vaccines safer.

Is there such a report that has been verified by a third party?

A lot of their statutory obligations have been permanently waived - as noted, they are under no obligation to perform a Phase 4 trial, mainly because (I assume) Phase 3 isn’t due for completion until 2023-2024 (depending on the manufacturer). They certainly haven’t been given any additional or alternative responsibilities.

Yet another reason that some reckon they should not get vaccinated.

Well that sucks. :grimacing:

We currently live in a world that sucks

Some won’t get the vaccination, as their doctor has advised them they are at very high risk of suffering serious side effects from the vaccine.

Different strokes for different folks.

Without the slightest understanding of an individual’s own personal medical health status, we have people on here being highly irresponsible by trying to shame people into getting vaxxed.

Round and round we go . . .

If you are still not confident to get any covid vaccine then forget about taking any vaccine basically ever…

You don’t even identify which vaccine is the problem.

They are all just lumped together.

Some of these covid vaccines (Pfizer , Moderna and AZ) are the most researched vaccines out there with hundreds of millions of data points tracked over a year or more in many cases. FDA approved too for Pfizer.

The most effective way by far is to get vaxxed.

Get healthy is a pipedream for most people within a year or two time period and older people with chronic diseases don’t and can’t suddenly they healthy '. This organs are already messed up and they have high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease , diabetes etc.

Getting vaxxed is simply getting two jabs.

I know which one is more realistic.

No need for back and forths of telling people here to get vaxed or not get vaxed, thanks. Let’s stick to discussion of the issues.

Sad story. Very preventable.
