Japan was supposed to manufacture 90 million AZ this year, think they were going to have shots around August time. Maybe that could help situation in Taiwan.
The next batch of Medigen is probably going to be mostly second shots. After that they should start setting up in shopping malls and hypermarkets, allowing people to bring their NHI card and do walk-in vaccinations(no need to pre-register). That could be a good selling point over the overseas ones and speed up the total vaccination process.
My second Moderna shot is due around end of September, and it ain’t looking good at the moment.

I wouldn’t despair quite yet, as the CECC has usually been pretty tight lipped about deliveries until just before they arrive.
The number I saw is 595,000—still good!
Yes and Moderna promised an extra one million this year on top of 5 million purchased.
Yeah was a political commentator who said one million last night. The number is actually what you said
18-22 year olds in addition to students getting BNT before anyone else.
More dropped hints that vaccine mixing might be in the cards. AZ followed by BNT, that is.
Regarding the possibility of mixing vaccines, which many are concerned about, the command center also hinted that this might be possible, stating that experts believe mixed vaccination using AZ and BNT is feasible, but the feasibility still needs to be considered based on the vaccine purchase volume. (rough translation)
Slow day yesterday it seems.
23,771 doses given yesterday, of which 15,323 were second doses. 900,651 are now fully vaccinated.
Fascinating…hope it works out.
Yeah, looks like a good vaccine. Taiwan should try to get the CDMO contract
Prediction for next week:
When people die from taking the BNT vaccine, for whatever reasons that a miniscule amount of people die, the green media will make a huge brouhaha as a retaliation for all the brouhaha the KMT and blue media made about deaths from Medigen and AZ vaccines.
This will be the main subject of conversation in Taiwan next week
Add a week or so as it takes that long for them to do their checks and nothing has yet arrived in any case to be checked.
Good point. Then the week after. It will arrive to tomorrow so should start vaccination around next week
Trouble is, its not just certain media in Taiwan that seem to be anti AZ - its getting a hiding from media and the keyboard warriors in Australia too.
Nowhere in the world are vaccines the main subject of discussion in the media like here. People are frigging obsessed with vaccines
