Coronavirus Vaccine in Taiwan - May/June 2021

Yeah, medical workers, government bureaucrats, and COVID frontline workers, in that order.

Iā€™ll be happy if there is no pause. Iā€™m way down the list so Iā€™m not yet paying attention to when my turn comes up. I imagine there WILL be a pause in vaccinations if another shipment isnā€™t announced soon.

The below could be interpreted as potentially indicating that the President might not necessarily be so confident any longer that she wants to use the Taiwanese vaccine herselfā€¦

Chen said whether the domestic vaccines can be used or not will depend on whether it gets EUA or not, and if it does, it will depend on individualsā€™ willingness to see if they will be willing to get the #Taiwan vaccines or not. This was the answer in response to whetherā€¦

ā€¦ #Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen would get vaccinated with Taiwanā€™s own vaccine or not since she kept promoting the vaccines during yesterdayā€™s press conference, according to the journalist.

Chen said there will be all kinds of different vaccines and he said the CECC is going to plan whether they should let people choose their preferred brand of vaccine. But he said if there is the choice to choose, citizens may have to delay getting vaccinated

If the choice is between no vaccine or Medigen, Iā€™d choose the Medigen of course. But tbh, if the choice is between Medigen now or Moderna or AZ in a month, Iā€™d probably wait.

I would prefer that jab #1 and jab #2 be of the same brand, not that it worries me, but it might worry those screening arriving travelers at an airport.

Also if you want to travel, the EU is only accepting pfizer, AZ, and moderna as acceptable vaccinesā€¦

You can also get in with a recent negative test or showing covid antibodies.

Not true:

Member States should allow travel into the EU of those people who have received, at least 14 days before arrival, the last recommended dose of a vaccine having received marketing authorisation in the EU. Member States could also extend this to those vaccinated with a vaccine having completed the WHO emergency use listing process. In addition, if Member States decide to waive the requirements to present a negative PCR test and/or to undergo quarantine for vaccinated persons on their territory, they should also waive such requirements for vacccinated travellers from outside the EU.

Up to each member state yo decide, although marketing authorization in the EU and / or WHO emergency use listing should greatly improve chances.

Youā€™re posting in the right thread. But I have some bad news for you and your ladyboy escort.

The popular resort island of Phuket is set to welcome fully vaccinated international visitors quarantine-free starting July 1, three months earlier than the rest of the country.

But thatā€™s good news. Iā€™m over 55 so I reckon Iā€™ll be vaccinated sometime in July.

Iā€™m not far from your grouping. Weā€™ve got 3.5 million 65+ senior citizens ahead of us. And this isnā€™t counting the various groups in front of them and the people who will use guanxi to jump ahead. Itā€™s still possible but it will take some big, positive news of vaccine imports in the coming weeks. I think it will happen but if it doesnā€™t, I think July is VERY optimistic.

I got a feeling we is gonna be swimming in vaccines.
