Cosi o cosi has pretty good thin crust pizza. I still enjoy Mr. Paco’s, at least it’s consistent, but haven’t been there for eons. I would NOT recommend Kiss pizza these days. Actually, a really, really good pizza place has yet to open in Taipei. EVER! Imagine that. It’s one of those things I indulge in when back in SF.
Yeah, I like Cosi o Cosi too. They’re located on Dunhua South Road, Section 1, #155 (just north of the Haagen-Dazs place). Their phone number is 2771-5883.
I went to Cosi o Cosi the other day, very nice food and reasonable priced.
Can ask for extra Oregano, too, excellent!
Will try out the Bellini’s next …
hey, Cosi o Cosi is news to me. what’s the story with this place? how reasonably priced is it?
About NT$300-420 depending on flavour if I remember correctly. Not cheap but compared to Pizza Hut and Dominos, where you pay the same, it’s considered reasonable in my opinion.
First, let me say that I’ve been in Taiwan for a LONG time but only recently discovered this site… Probably because I only recently began using a computer for anything other than work! Anyway, this is a great site and I have been reading lots of interesting discussions in the past few days. Great entertainment and very informative, to say the least.
I like Cosi o Cosi for pizza. Their’s is as close to New York pizza as I have been able to find in Taiwan. Plus, Cosi o Cosi has a nice little selection of Belgian beer to go with their thin crust pizza…
And that one cutie waitress who spent time in Italy and can read the menu in Italian… Mmmm!
Cosi o Cosi has a lunch special. It’s 240 for a small salad, pizza of the day (one topping) and a drink. Ends at 2 o’ clock.
Try Cosi o Cosi on the search and you’ll stumble about a couple of threads on pizza and Belgian beer. According to some people, they make some of the best Italian pizza in Taipei. I wouldn’t really know because I haven’t had much pizza here. But the one at Cosi o Cosi was definitely nice. I plan to take my Shanghai friend there tonight and wanted to make a reservation.

Highly recommended for REAL Italian Pizza and not that misch-masch you get at Pizza Hut or Dominos.
I recommend to make a reservation.
I’m a big fan of Cosi o Cosi too. I used to work with an Italian girl who said it was the best Italian food she’d eaten outside of Italy. Honestly.
Cosi o Cosi is simply superb.
Thin crust pizzas cooked in a pizza oven. Belgian Beer and reasonably-priced Italian wines. Light-hearted atmosphere. You can also just turn up late and have a bottle of wine and a few snacks. If you are lucky, and they are at the end of a block of cheese, they will roast some parmesan rind for you to eat with your wine. (Sounds weird, tastes divine.)
Pizzas are exquisite - favourites are the four cheese, the parma ham, and they used to do a spinach and gorgonzola one, too. Once had a salad pizza there, too.
On Dunhua, section between Zhongxiao E. Road and Shimin Da Dao.

Just went to Cosi-O-Cosi again tonight with the in-laws. Even in those circumstances it was fantastic.
I take lots of foreign clients there also, and for kicks and one of those only-in-Taiwan experiences, I show them the store in the lane just south of Cosi-O-Cosi, the one with the big red sign that reads “MotherF%@#er”. That always gets a bewildered shake of the head.
LOL! Mother Fucker is my landmark to find V.V.G., next alley down. I get tired of the gourmet thin crust pizza sometimes and long for a gargantuan bendy cheesey slice of margherita on-the-go. It’s a shame to have to wait a year or more, and cross an entire ocean, just for that kind of treat.
Alien, what is V.V.G., and where exactly (north, south, east or west) from Mother Fucker is it located?
I finally had the opportunity to eat here. The pizza was the best have eaten in Taiwan!! And their selection of beer and wine is outstanding! I didn’t like the pasta though. But all in all I will certainly go back again very soon!!
The owner’s name is Robin. He is the one with the glasses and goatee.
went to cosi o cosi last night before heading over to Q bar for happy hour (nice to meet you all).
Indeed some of the best thin-crust pizza i’ve had in a long time (bests ones were in SF…and no, I don’t think Italians make good pizza. I believe it’s strictly Italian-American, but hey that’s me.)
I highly recommend the Carciofi(?) Artichoke…pizza. and the Spinaci - spinach with pine nuts, etc.
Not cheap, but since it’s comparable to pizza hut, I would choose Cosi over it anyday. left my pizza at QBar
Also tried La Terrasse after recommendations here. Great. loved the crepe. fun to talk with the french owner and his taiwanese wife.
Also tried the Chilean restaurant. wine was terrible. food was really excellent, but portions could have been bigger (but that’s my n.american habit). i liked the ceviche the most.
Will try Mykonos tonite.
Thanks for the heads-up. This is a great forum/threads.
My 2cents: the indian restaurant (something Delhi) on Linsen Road was expensive, small dishes, and only the Tandoori was good(actually some of the best Tandoori I’ve had…most places overcook it until it is dry as hell. this place cooked it well but still soft and juicy).
Keep them coming. I can’t wait to try out new stuff. too bad about the turkish restaurant that closed down. passed by the old location still with a sign.
jackburton is absolutely right on the artichoke pizza.
Had one there a couple of weeks ago … and it was the best pizza I ever had in Taiwan … beating a “four cheeses” pizza at Citizen Cain into second place.
I’ll be back at Cosi o Cosi … if I can find a table. The place is small and always seems crowded … and I’m not the kind of guy who knows in what part of town he’ll be at lunch or dinner time, so I can’t book a table.

Three tables are set up on the sidewalk, but Dunhua is hardly Champs-Elysees. I doubt anyone would choose to eat there with a bus roaring by every 30 seconds.
Also want to mention the attentive service there. I ordered a bottle of Duvel with my dinner, but to my chagrin, it wasn’t cold enough. The Taiwan-conditioned docile patron that I am, I asked for some ice instead of complaining about the less-than-ideal drink temperature. The server took my glass and came back with the requested ice. But a minute later, she came and apologized for the warm beer and offered to give me a new bottle. I accepted it, and got one that was icy cold.
