Has Costco stopped selling Optimum Nutrition (ON) Whey Protein Powder?
It’s gone from their online store. Sad if true.

I’m pretty sure I saw it last week at the store.
Thanks, I’ll pick some up before it sells out.
Combo pizza is back! Had a slice in XiZhi, wasn’t great…
No whey!
I drink that stuff when I run, before eating, to burn fat. Sweat like Roger Ebert.
Eat garlic food before running.
Your sweat will smell “nice” and keep away the vampires on night runs.
Saw it last week at Neihu Costco.
Has anyone tried this red cow stuff? I think it’s a local brand. Wonder about the quality of their protein
I ended up buying Impact Whey from Costco, as it’s relatively cheap but also a famous worldwide brand.
I don’t really trust the local stuff.
It’s better than nothing but it’s really bereft of tomato sauce. What’s the reason? Like it’s got a thin coating of sauce on the pizza. Is it really THAT expensive now?
Assuming it the same Red Cow as the milk powder I use, (紅牛奶粉) then it’s not local brand. It’s from Australia or New Zealand. The milk powder is good though.
Is this it?
How long does it last? I’m thinking about taking Creatine and protein as a way to increase strength for swimming. I’m not lifting weights and my goal is not muscle growth. How much protein should I take daily for such a goal?
Yes. they also have chocolate and milk flavors on the online store (although they appear to be out of stock).
I’ll have to check the bag for the expiry date. But generally, whey lasts indefinitely as long as it’s stored in a cool dry place. I’ve used “expired” whey protein before with no issues.
For strength training, I think the daily goal is about 1g of protein per kg of body weight.
Thanks for the information! For my “how long does it last” question, I meant how many days does one 2.5kg package last.
I weigh 86 kilos so I would need to take 86 grams of protein per day? And the website states 每份含有蛋白質21克 (each portion has 21 grams of protein), but does not state how many portions there are in the 2.5kg package.
So I’m curious how many days worth of protein would I be buying for about 1600nt. I’m wondering if it’s worth it.
Edit: Oh wait. I see 內容量/入數 100份. There are 100 portions. Divided by 4 (84 grams of protein) is 25. So about 25 days worth for 1600 nt. Hmmm. Not sure about that.
The labelling is quite misleading. The nutritional information states 21g of protein per 30g of powder - for that you get 83 portions.
But the scoop that’s included only holds 25g of powder, which gives 18g of protein and 100 servings.
Most of your protein should be coming from food; whey just helps add to the daily total. I wouldn’t have more than 2 protein shakes per day.
Given that you’re Taiwanese it shouldn’t be overly difficult for you to call them and ask, let us know what you find out.
Okay, that’s good to know. I’ve never taken supplements to enhance sport performance (except for caffeine) so this is all new to me. So I guess the My Protein Impact is a decent deal. I think I’ll try it. Thanks.
I’ve been taking this since last Wednesday (4 days now), and I’m losing weight. It’s an unexpected benefit, as I haven’t been trying to lose weight. My weight has been stuck at 87-88 kilos for some time now. I like it at 86 kilos as acid reflux disappears for me at this weight. After just a few days of protein powder, I am now back to 86.1 kilos as of this morning.
Is this a normal benefit of taking protein powder? I’m drinking one drink with one scoop (21 grams of protein) every day. That’s it.
