Today at my local Costco they were giving out samples of Kirkland eggnog. I was the only one trying it, didn’t seem popular amongst the locals. Tastier than I remember, but can’t imagine drinking 1.7 liters of it. ---

A long while back, perhaps 15-20 years ago, around this time of year the Zhonghe Costco sometimes offered eggnog. But it was just eggnog, no alcohol, in a milk carton. It was pretty good. I’ve never felt tempted by their “Egg Nog Liqueur.” ---

Surely the “nog” in Eggnog implies that it contains alcohol? Otherwise it’s just thin vanilla custard sauce! ---

But the ingredients are all here and it’s easy enough to make. Some of the best egg nog I’ve ever had were made by taiwanese restaraunts, years past. I wonder if any are doing it this year? Been a while! Personally I prefer egg nog sans ethanol. Properly spiced creamy heaven! ---

I tried the calzone. It was ok. A bit like a subway meatball sandwich. Wouldn’t get it again but it was better and bigger than those meat roll things they sell. Anyone tried the cookies? They looked epic. ---

A heck of a lot more substantial than I initially thought. I had one for dessert with a calzone a few weeks ago, and that was too big a meal; brought a cookie home last week, and had half in the afternoon, half later. Due to the size, it worked better for that. Same visit, I brought home one of the beef rolls, reheated it in the oven, and then ate with several of the different sauces I’ve always got in the fridge. Much, much tastier that way. ---
