Under the legislation, the President would appoint a federal coordinator to oversee efforts to counter domestic antisemitism and create an interagency task force to coordinate the implementation of federal strategies, according to a text of the bill shared with CNN.
The federal coordinator and the new task force will also be required to conduct an analysis of antisemitism online.
The legislation would also require the designation of a senior official within the Department of Education to serve as advisor on the agency’s efforts to combat discrimination in higher education.
Among other actions, the bill would formally establish the month of May as “Jewish American Heritage Month” in federal law, according to the text.

Existing laws already possess the necessary teeth to stop this kind of anti-social behavior not just against Jews, but al ethnicities and religious groups. Additional teeth aren’t needed, but political integrity is and telling some people that they need to mind their own business and stop forcing their ideologies onto others needs to happen.
I think it might be less about supporting Jews and more about shutting down people in favor of Palestine tbh. The American government supports Israel, but a lot of the American population has come to absolutely despise them over the course of the war. This law would make it easier to shut down pro-Palestine or anti-Israel protests or online discussion by labeling it antisemitism. That’s been one of their main tactics so far.
I’d have to look up the exact numbers but I am pretty sure the majority of US senators are paid by AIPAC, so basically everything they do is a reflection of AIPAC.
