Crappy films you love, and why

I’ll start.

Resident Evil series is one of my favorites. They’re mostly terrible movies but I love the way they just keep forging ahead with no respect to what does and doesn’t make sense. Despite having no artistic merit, they’re really entertaining. I can’t wait for the next and final one.

The Room, by Tommy Wiseau. Absolute garbage, but it keeps drawing me in, as I struggle to answer the question “What the hell was he thinking when he added that bizarre plot point or wrote that unnatural dialogue?” It’s a work of genius-level ineptitude.

Joe vs the Volcano…the first part is almost a documentary of life in a Taiwanese office

I like Conan the Barbarian (1982) because he punches a camel.

Definitely Maybe, Bridget Jone’s Diary, Wedding Singer… I’m a sucker for a lot of crappy chick flicks made between the 90s~00s.

I came here for saying that I don’t like crappy movies but I had a great time watching that one xD

Sorry, I couldn’t resist posting this classic clip:

I have to 100% agree with the Resident Evil series. There’s really no sense to the plot(s), people keep getting revived and the main character seems invincible even when she’s mortal. A great guilty pleasure.

I guess I can probably say that I’m a fan of the Underworld series as well. At first it started with Kate Beckinsale in a latex suit, now…still Kate Beckinsale in a latex suit + just gore and action.

I do like the movie Dumb and Dumberer (the prequel), I think the movie isn’t that bad, just don’t have Jim Carrey in it. Scott Pilgrim vs The World, is really cheesy but I like it even the music. The Harold and Kumar movies, Napoleon Dynamite, they are like my comfort movies. The one I can’t really digest is Hot Rod, everybody else seems to love it, but I have tried every few years to see if I was just pretentious but no, I just can’t.

Deuce Bigalow European Gigolo----best representation of Canadians on film I’ve ever seen.
