AJ, sailing is a great idea…but he expects me to jump up and buy a boat last Wednesday. We are still working out many intricate details about the business plan itself. We are not in a hurry. He is in too much of one. If I am guilty of anything, it’s coming out in public with this idea too soon. DB warned me to be quiet, but I wanted to share what I was involved in with 'umosans. Now I am becoming less sure of that decision.
What’s wrong with it is Stragbasher’s pushiness to be quite frank. This is the answer I’ve been waiting for from him for weeks now. Slag away Slagger. There’s lotsa sailors out there sailor.
Bridge burned.
Whatever.
I read the ad for this. Can you give us a few more details about the leadership course? And can you confirm that you actually have students signed up for these courses.
I would love to. PLease follow the procedure outlined in the ad and I will be happy to. I regret to say, however, that I will keep things less open. Bitterness cuz I can’t get a guy a boat after 1 or 2 lunches I don’t need. If he had given me 6 months, I may have said I would be willing to pitch the idea.
Its just not the best blending of energies shall we say? I admire Strag’s passion. His onslaught of submissions showed me that he does have many interesting ideas. But the very nature of the onslaught seemed to me to be a wee too challenging. A bit of daring me to turn him down so he could tee off on me in public. I even went to bat for him, risking my people’s opinion about my own judgement in so doing. And this is what I get?
Well, surprise, surprise…I have been expecting it for weeks.
It’s bad form to use my name in public btw…I did joke with you about it the last time you did it, but ummmm…u know…
No, I don’t expect you to buy a boat last Wednesday, nor two as you suggested. I don’t expect you to buy a boat at all. But you didn’t stop to ask the pertinent questions, did you?
I’ll buy my own boat, but if you want to offer a course, any kind of course, you have to show some commitment. Show me you can market it, commit to doing so, and it’s yours, whatever it is. So far you’re offering no guarantees to anyone, but you’re asking them for their ideas and time. And you’re not really listening to what they say. It’s as if you have already decided what you want and are just looking for mirrors of your own opinions.
You chose to discuss this publicly, so I make no apologies for giving you my opinions publicly. I make no apologies for being pushy, because if you attempt to hire people they expect to be hired in the near future. Like I said a month ago, it’s all about keeping commitments.
Now, a reminder. You gave a public commitment to provide all participants with the minutes of the pizza meeting. The fact that you have now decided not to work with me (or vice versa) does not let you out of that commitment. We all shared our ideas on the understanding that we would all be able to review them later.
You invested time and money to get those ideas, do you seriously expect me to believe that no-one has typed those notes up and distributed them throughout your organisation for review? You have had TWO full weeks. Nobody could be so unprofessional as to just set aside the return on their investment, could they? So please quit stalling and give us all a reason to believe that Toe is on the level. Share the goods like you promised.
All I see here, underneath it all, is someone who really gets off on saying things like “here’s my card”, and “and call my personal secretary”…this is what it’s all about really. Right,Toesave?
Final post be damned. I know that Toe, although playing dead, is still frequenting this forum under a different name. The following comments were made in another forum and subsequently moved to ‘flame’. Posting replies is disabled there, so I’m copying them into this thread to ensure Toe’s right to defend himself. This is a serious accusation, and I hope that he will take the opportunity to correct the impression given so far about all this.
I spent five hours (three in travel time and research, two in actual setup) setting up a website for him, or at least starting to (it was supposed to have been a few more hours, once he got the graphics to me and told me what changes he wanted). For which he never paid me, having quit his job to “pursue his dream”. When I asked him about it last, he told me he’d “get back to me”, but of course he never did call back. I guess this is how I’m repaid.
I hope he does better by the people he’s trying to suck into his new venture. Somehow I doubt it.
Stragbasher attended the meeting and from what I understand from these forums, made a significant contribution to that meeting, and is therefore fully entitiled to a copy of the minutes- I doubt these minutes even exist.
As for Squid, how dare you refer to someone elses 2000nt at measly?! 2000nt may not be much to you from the top of your ivory tower (smirk), but it doesn’t meant that you shouldn’t see to it that he gets paid. You shamelessly pass the buck when anything goes wrong and with every word that falls onto these pages your reputation, which was only a product of your own trumpet blowing anyway, is being flushed down the gary glitter.
I was fairly civil to you when we bumped into each other the other night but in light of of the shit that has cropped up over the last couple of days, you won’t be enjoying such civility from me in the future- I can’t stomach gobshites!!
Something tells me that it won’t be too long before 2000nt is worth something to you again, and as you once said to me when I criticised your wall street effort- good luck with your career at kojen!
I am going to take the liberty to lock this thread for a while. I will talk to ImaniOU about whether to unlock it or leave it as it is. Not trying to censor anyone’s opinion about stuff but I think it wise if we all chill for a while.
Yesterday, 09/30, we hosted a Press Conference at ABC Are Free, one of our Outsource Affiliates. It was an unqualified success. The word is out. The phones are ringing.
More good news. The OPOF (Online Proposal Outline Form) is ready. You can link to it from our website: www.core-corner.com .
I count five… but that’s just me. (trained editor…)
Why shouldn’t he try his damndest? Huh? Seriously, why not?
OK maybe he’s lucky in some respects; he has Taiwanese business men backing him, he has an “office”, and he has the intelligence and ability to set up groups like this to get your ideas… And he now has a list of emails/phone numbers so if he needs staff he can call or email you…
That seems smart enough to me…
What exactly is your problem?
I went to that “first meeting” too…
Then I had to leave Taiwan and check my friends at HK airport…
I can run the things that this guy is talking about. And I “know” I can because I did it for three years…
So I sent him a list of 87 ideas.
I said. “That’s free. If you want someone to run it for you, call me.”
Guess what?
No call.
I think what I am saying is this:
If you have a course that you think you can sell, then sell it yourself and take ALL of the money for yourself.
If you have the ideas, but no connections… then make connections and maybe talk to others in the meantime…
If you have loads of connections, but no ideas… well… OK… Just PM me and I’ll send you the same thing I sent to Stew Pendous…
