If going plastic, use it for the vertical parts. Use metal/real wood for horizontal. The heat here tends to soften plastic boards a lot and most I have seen here warp and sag after a few years. Or add more support posts to avoid 
taiwan sells some pretty convincing looking plastic boards that look wood like, for sure. But they do warp and sag down easily in heat and either weight.
