The first one has a shortened duration, probably expires at about the same as your ARC? My first card was valid for just 10 months but replacement is 6 years.
Yeah, two months after my ARC expiration, actually.
But I don’t really mind if they send me a new card earlier - my ESun card is already peeling and still has almost four years left
Had to do some banking in Taichung today. First at HSBC Xitun branch. They confirmed they won’t normally issue credit cards after someone turns 65. So I said let’s discuss after Chinese new year.
Then walked across the road to China Trust bank. Need to do a credit card purchase three times my card limit. So loaded up with cash to put on my card. They of course ask where did u get this cash I reply withdrew from my hsbc branch next door showed them the receipt. So bank staff are careful to machine count funds add to card. They call the credit dept who have now pre approved a single time purchase for tomorrow.
With the transaction amount. Good for my china airline miles lol.
Staff really polite, new staff member only worked there for 3 months. She didn’t know you can top up a card more than credit limit to do a large single purchase, like a car.
