I did think about that, but surely such a card would still be “valid”? As in usable.
Question: Do I need to walk in to apply for one or can I do it online only via website? Which one is the fastest or least need to communicate?
Amex, and you can do most of the application online/via email. They might give you a quick call

yep, Amex only one. all others need to apply via old school systems. I would avoid like the black plague going to the branch and apply, they will do their level best not to let you apply.
Just get the application form and mail them to the credit card centre of the bank.

Forgot to ask: is AMEX here in Taiwan good with english customer support? My cards (issued back home) have been compromised recently, just want to know how easy it’ll be to call customer support to get it blocked and replaced.

Yea, they are Taiwanese customer service but their English is better than most Taiwanese English teachers
