Whose fault is it? The folks speaking their language in their country or some foreigner speaking only his language in their country? FYI they understand very well written English.
I’m not trying to blame them for not speaking English… I just want to know what you specifically do by “threatening them to complain at the FSC and FOI”, did you directly say to them, did you show your Google Translate page, or something else, so I can do the same thing.
But again, I re-read my post, and I didn’t feel like I was trying to find fault. But I apologize if I made anyone feel like I’m blaming Taiwanese people for only speaking Mandarin in Taiwan.
ESun you can apply online IF it’s not your first card with them.
Huh, I didn’t know that! Just applied for a Unicard (was thinking about that for some time now - but too lazy to print out the form etc
).
After entering my ID number and birthday, I only had to answer two questions (dual national? working in a specific industry?).
Afterwards, I uploaded a picture of my ARC (front and back) and passport (the only thing they mention specifically in English: Foreigners need to upload a picture of their passport). I didn’t upload any financial statements as I already have two cards with E.SUN and keep >NT$300k deposits with them (not sure if they’ll still request those or not…?).
Let’s see what will happen ![]()
Even if they request it, there is an option to use data from themselves (ESun) to do it i.e. you just fill out the form to authorize.
This is very good news. Will give it a try
I just filled out the form using the link on their website to upload additional information ( 辦卡進度查詢 / 補件 - 玉山銀行 ). Or at least I think I did…?
Checked some boxes about agreeing to the terms and conditions of E.Sun connecting to some government service etc. to query my financial information (so that sounds right…?).
But at the end, I had to set up a password…? But not sure what exactly this password is for - it just said if I don’t set up a password now, my information cannot be used. After setting up the password, I just received a confirmation page ![]()
It’s to secure your data. There’s some receipt about what they checked and you can use the password to look it up.
I’ve done it before. If you have existing credit approved you can check the ESun Wallet app for credit card application status. It’s usually pretty quick (not over the weekend).
Well, that was fast - just received a text message:
親愛的顧客您好:您的玉山Unicard已核卡,邀請您至玉山 Wallet 綁定卡片,進行方案切換!
Where in the site did you apply for the new Uni card?
Rant about the AE platinum gym benefit.
You’re allowed 4 visits per month per hotel, and there are 4 hotels in Taipei. That’s 16 free visits per month, when normal day pass price is NT$1,000 per visit. Not bad.
However, time slots are released once per month and the shitty AE website gets slammed with traffic at midnight. AE says they ban you if using a bot… Then all time slots are gone within 5-8 minutes.
End result: I could only reserve 5 time slots. Might as well just buy an annual membership directly with the hotel and not deal with these concert-style booking games.
Back to world gym for me.
World gym the absolute worst…
never used the perk, always asked when renewing to waive that and give me instead points.
tried to register a few times, never managed, so never bothered
You managed to save 5,000. If you do this every month, you can save 60k over the year!
annual fee $36,800 man, i’m getting too old for these coupon book games
What card is this
amex platinum charge card, both vanilla and eva air version.
Vanilla is now part of Peach. Guess the Amex card is now branded accordingly?
Vanilla meaning, normal version… I think I will die before seeing any LCC cobranding with Amex
Anyone know how easy it is to get the costco/fubon cc with an arc?
For proof of salary, do they want to see actual payslips or should showing them the “salary summary” screen on my banking app suffice?
