I have an agent who arranges small classes for me now, but I would like to teach at a real adult conversation school. I suspect it would give me much more regular hours. The is things that I have been writing my own materials and using my own system for so long now that it would probably be quite a struggle to adjust to someone else’s curriculum. Basically I need a place that would give me some students, a blackboard and a television and and then leave me to it. Thanks in advance.
Just a question, but wouldn’t it be possible to just tell your agent you’re available during certain hours and not other hours, or to ask that hours be blocked? Seems like you’d make substantially more money on your own than with a school, wouldn’t you?
Indeed I would make more if only I could find the students! I could tell my agent I have my own but I don’t have my own. Am I missing something here. Is there some secret to getting privates that I don’t know about. I am actually thinking about applying at global village despite the notoriously low rate of pay. It sounds like my cup of tea aside from that issue. Students come when they want and if they want. No hassling people who are actually too exhausted to learn anything. And from what I hear they let teachers design their own systems. That is a biggy for me. I may be suave and debonair but I am no spring chicken if you catch my drift. Privates are not knocking my door down anymore. Anyway thanks for responding.
