Custom made buisness shoes (not shoe repair)

Hello

I've been looking for a place that makes shoes like the good ole days here in Taipei. Can anyone direct me to a really top notch place. I'm prepared to pay a bit for them. I want some nice classy shoes to go with my custom suite.

Any suggestions will be appreaciated.

You shouldn’t be wearing your shoes in the house. Get your feet off the couch at ONCE!

Uhm…ok, not the suggestion I was looking for.

You were looking for a suite deal perhaps?

Sorry for the groaners. Slow night.

Here’s a link to some shops:

Last time I had bespoke shoes made here was for my wedding, more than a decade ago, so this info might be out of date. I just asked the tailor who made my suit, who gave me a card for a shoemaker. The shoes were OK – I can still wear them – the quality wasn’t all that, and the price was high, at around NT$8,000. Personally, I’m looking for calfskin suede lining rather than cheap canvas for that price! I would consider asking the tailor who made your lounge furniture to suggest someone.
For the last several years I’ve been getting mine made by an Indian fellow in Chaweng, Koh Samui. He does very good work indeed for about 5000 a pair. Even with shipping added in and no final fitting, they’re a sight better than the Taiwanese ones, but you’d need to provide the measurements, which isn’t that hard to do, plus, he has my dimensions on file. I wouldn’t recommend this approach if its your first pair of bespoke, though. The good thing about this bloke is that you can just send him a picture of the shoes you wnat and he’ll do them – everything from classic English brogues through crazy Texan cowboy boots to stiletto-heeled fetish wear, in any colour and animal skin you can think of. I’ll try to find his card and post it here.

You know the Tavern???, Just walk past it round the corner on Keelung Road, you have this shop called Amaldi, Paris, they sell a pair of already made leather soled shoes for 3500 and upwards, but welcome custom fittings and since I was already very happy with their Prêt-à-Porter, I didn’t bother customizing. But they’ll take about 2 weeks for you to do it. I have been through a few shoes and this is the only shop I would buy heels from. Highly recommended by me. :sunglasses:
