Customs duty?

Does someone have anything concrete on customs duty for items shipped to Taiwan? I read 5% and I even saw 35% from a poster here. I can’t seem to find the exact number.

It obviously varies depending on the goods imported, from 0-30(?).

I don’t think the got customs duties as high as 35.

There is a government website(can’t find the link now) where you can check the rate.

If you can’t read Chinese, check eg the U.K. HMRC website for the commodity code, and use that then on the tw website(the codes are the same)

Imagine the tax if you were importing a vehicle packed with tobacco, liquor, and electrical appliances!

Yes, I saw this. From what I understand, it’s 0-30% and no duty for items less than $3,000NTD. But it doesn’t go into which rate applies once over. 10% duty seems reasonable, but I wouldn’t be ok with 20-30% That would be crazy.

I guess that’s why imported cars are so much more expensive here than in the country of origin. I hear that Mercedes is actually not that expensive in Germany.

So, you get the exact rate here
