Daniel Hannan’s Caveat to America

At 27 minutes and 26 seconds it might be a good idea to have this on ‘in the background.’

"Daniel Hannan, a British Member of the European Parliament, issued a strong warning to conservative Americans worried about their country’s future in a speech at the CPAC rally last week in Washington.

The self-proclaimed Euroskeptic and author of The New Road to Serfdom, warned U.S. political conservatives not to follow in Europe’s tragic footsteps by allowing their governments to seize too much power and create dependency through mismanaged socialized government programs — the very Welfare State culture that has a strangle hold on the Old Continent’s major economies such as Britain, France, Germany and Italy."

"Hannan said he always admired Americans for their optimism and “anything’s possible” attitude, but they need to make sure their “rulers remember they are not rulers but representatives.” He humorously noted that in Belgium, where he works in European Parliament, the country was without a government for nearly two years “and it was working brilliantly!”

Why is it that the socialist hell holes of Scandinavia, Canada, Australia, Germany and the UK are the only countries left with AAA ratings?

I’d be curious to hear the right wing take on this. Oh that’s right, they aren’t looking at all the data, just the bits that suit their agenda. :sunglasses:

Are you certain this post is on the correct thread?..:idunno:

Minister at the European parliament, is he taking the salary, pension and perks too?

Do YOU work for free?
I don’t.
Seems to be a bit of shooting the messenger and ignoring the message.

It’s a very lucrative position, I’m sure that he is just in it to be a dissenting voice of course…tosser that he is saying one thing and doing another.

Since you seem to be unable to actually make a relevant comment on the OP of this thread, it might be more productive for you to express your ambiguous dislike of Mr. Hanna directly to him:

On Facebook:

His blog:

It appears that he is even “Twitterific”:

Let us know how you fair…should you decide to engage Mr. Hannan in a battle of wits…
