I’m speechless and daunted. This is abso-fucking-lutely brilliant: Das Ist Numberwang! Meanwhile, on this side of the Atlantic Dane Cook is considered a comedian. Which is really sad. We North Americans are so freakin’ impoverished when it comes to comedy.
This particular clip is three years old, I’m behind the times because I’m not in the UK. The debt to Monty Python is obvious, and of course, to me the Pythons are a pantheon of deities, so I can’t be sure if I’m not just experiencing a comforting sense of emotional transfer when I watch Mitchell and Webb. They’ve picked up the torch and are carrying on from where the Pythons left off. I freely admit that I’m not objective enough about my newfound infatuation with Mitchell and Webb. But there is literally nothing even half as good as them in comedy in the New World.
