DDR2 Prices in Taiwan

I’m building a new system, and in the process of sorting out all the particulars. Want something mid to high end. Found all the parts for reasonable prices, except for RAM. I will not put no-name RAM of questionable quality in my new build, but the only name brand stuff I have been able to find is Corsair, which has an excellent reputation and is a decent performer. However, pricing here is ridiculous. For 2 gigs of DDR2800 CL4 the street price is nt$14, 650. According to online American retailers, the exact same modules retail for $244US, which translates into about nt$8000.

I do except some components to be more money here, but I have a hard time swallowing this disparity in price.

I don’t know what brands are good and what’s not but pchome has some that are cheaper.

Pricing looks pretty close to USA prices. Although there is a US$40.00 rebate on that Corsair memory right now.

Thanks for the links guys. That Patriot looks very good for the price. Upon further digging I also found some G.Skill. This is very highly rated, has Micron D9 ics, Cas latency of 4, and should be a great overclocker. And it’s only about 10,000nt. Comparably performing Corsair modules are almost 20, 000nt.

Now if only the nVidia 8800gtx would drop in price. . .
