Dealing with the Straits Exchange Foundation

Hiya,

Does anyone have experience dealing with the Straits Exchange Foundation?

I am applying for a job in Taiwan and since my previous employer was in mainland China, my application documents including my work references from my past employers have to be sent to the Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) for verification. As I understand it, the cooperating partner on the Chinese side, the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) has verify them. In other words, the documents have to be notarized before the Taiwan side accepts them.

Is there anything I can do from my side to facilitate this process?
Can my previous employer get in touch with the ARATS and send them a notarized work reference?
Any other ideas?

I want to prevent my case from getting lost in the bureaucracy.

Thanks,
Tim
