Delightful kitten "Hope" needs a new home

Edit: Hope has found a new home! Thanks, Robin! :notworthy:

This fun little gal is 10.5 to 11 weeks old, and needs a new home. We call her Hope.

She arrived with a severe eye infection in her left eye which has left it milky, bluish and vision-impaired; however, she doesn’t show any sign of impairment other than not responding well to visual stimuli on her left side. Originally we thought she’d need surgery, but after two months of care and antibiotics, she seems okay, so we’re comfortable offering her for adoption to a good home. She may occasionally need eye drops in her left eye, which are easy to administer.

She has an adorable idiosyncrasy, which is that when she is happy, she sucks her thumb (in her case, a paw pad).

If you would like to give this lovely kitten a home, please contact me by PM. We have rescued and fostered many, many kittens and cats over the past few years, and this one is among the top few that we have been tempted to keep, so that should tell you something.

Hope is still available. Please help put the word out for us!

Just keep them all and never go on holiday again. You guys are doing such a great job helping all these cute kitties. The hardest part must be saying goodbye. :frowning:

But we need to have room and energy to spare to foster new batches of kittens which we get in quite often, so we can’t start keeping more of them. Also, Hope doesn’t blink to protect her left eye when playing with other cats, because she can’t see the paw or claw coming, so it is easily injured. She needs to be in a one-cat home, IMO, or in one with an older cat that doesn’t play actively.

Hope did end up having to have her left eye removed, but she’s still healthy and happy, very affectionate and playful, and frankly, really adorable, so if you know of anyone wanting to adopt please let us know ASAP (preferably on or before Sept. 11th).
