I’m a Nebraskan living abroad here in Taipei, Taiwan. The Nebraska Democratic Party this year moved our primary to February 9th and made it a caucus. I therefore was unhappy to know that I would not be able to cast a vote for Obama until the general election. Just a month or so ago, however, I was elated to learn that Democrats Abroad was organizing a Global Primary, for voters in my position. The primary is being held between February 5th and the 12th. American citizens living abroad can register online at http://www.democratsabroad.org/ to vote in the primary. You have the choice to either vote online or by mail. There are 22 delegates attached to the primary. Please go to the link above for more information. If you are registered in a late primary state, then your vote in the Global Primary may have more weight. You, however, cannot participate in both your state presidential primary and the Global Primary.
