Hi all,
I’m currently looking for a tailor who does alterations; I’ve been to a couple of hotel tailors, and all have stated that they do not do alterations. I have 2 Hickey Freeman suits that are not a year old, and while I had them fitted when I first purchased them, I have lost alot of weight since then. I do intend to get a made to measure suit, but I don’t want these two to go to waste. Does anyone have any recommendations for a dependable tailor whom they trust with suits? I’d rather not go to the in-house seamstresses at Shinkong Mitsukoshi, etc… as I’ve had a coat butchered there already. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Edit @ 9:21am, 7/13 - Sorry, forgot to specify that I am looking for a tailor in the Taipei area. I live in Gongguan, but anywhere within Taipei city is okay.
There are a few threads, I have given direction to somone I trust and has never let me down., He even altered an expensive suit that I brought here and some shit that I bought in Tailand. Good guy.

Does anyone know any good tailors who do clothing alterations? I am talking about ones which you would trust with your nicest clothing. When I was living in HK, I used one which was used by high-end designer clothes stores because their sewing was excellent. I would love to find one in Taipei too. I live in Guting… thanks!
Hi, have checked back late however I would be grateful if you could repost my thread under its original subject. To clarify, I am after a ladies alteration tailor and this thread has made it entirely focused on suits/men’s suits which is no use. Most suit tailors have no idea how to alter or even make ladies clothes even though they often claim they do…what I am hoping to find is a very good tailor who can do alterations on high-fashion clothes. If anyone knows where all the ladies high-fashion shops get their alterations done, that would be fantastic!
