I’ve heard about Scott’s deportation order. Now, I’m a little confused. Some attorney’s have told me that they must go to the court before they can issue a deportation order. I have always been under the impression that the police can deport you at their will. They don’t need to go to the courts. Does anyone know how this actually happens and the relevant laws regarding this matter.
I can’t really believe that you would worry so much about deportation unless they actually have you in custody. Try the time tested Taiwanese method of laying low till the heat wears off.
I’m sure the police can hassle you out of the country easily enough without having to trouble the judiciary. Once you’ve spent a few weeks running the length and breadth of the country appearing in various police stations, courts, and handing in various randomly demanded documents you won’t want to stay.
This is interesting. My attorneys (very expensive) told me there was no way they could deport you without going through the proper legal channels. Then, after conferring with an international attorney working at a law firm in Taipei. He stated absolutely that the police can deport anyone without going to the judiciary system. And as matter of fact, they can deport you for any reason because the laws that determine whether or not you violated the immigration are very loosely worded. So, basically, if any person wants you deported and he has a friend that’s a police officer, it’s quite easy.
