Deported while out of the country?

I was recently notified while on a lovely 2 month vacation that some work I had done 6 months ago at a high school was declared illegal. 3 of my colleagues have since left Taiwan…we all had ARC’s and thought we were working legally, but our company is massively shady and apparently doesn’t have the right connections. The case is in appeal right now but I don’t know if my name is on some immigration list or not.

Came back to HK to get a visitor’s visa but in my passport I still technically have a multiple entry that hasn’t been cancelled, so they wanted proof that I didn’t have a work permit anymore. Didn’t want them to look up my ARC as I feared they would type in my name, see the situation, and then put one of those ugly red stamps in my passport.

My biggest concern now is getting back into the country. My stuff, friends, privates, Chinese teachers, tax returns, etc. are all still there and when I left I had no idea this would happen.

Me and my boyf have a flight back tomorrow night and I’m concerned that I’ll turn into a Tom Hanks terminal gal.

Any advice? I’ve read some other posts but everyone’s situation seems to be a bit different.

Amazing isn’t it how the Taiwanese police amuse themselves? Fuck catching criminals, lets go through this file here and see who’s behind with their bribes…

Do you officially know about this? If you are 100% sure you are being held in breach of the immigration laws then you would need to find out exactly what is in store for you when you go back. What happened to your friends?

I’d suggest contacting ML McLean and Associates. They are a law firm in Taipei that deal with a lot of foreigners who run into crap like this. They sorted things for a friend of mine last year.
